The Freaknet Guide to
Amsterdam
Where to Stay
Accommodation is scarce in Amsterdam, and
it is always advisable to book ahead, even
in the off season.
For high-priced luxury hotels, try Expedia or Lastminute.com.
The Amsterdam
Tourist Board has a selection of mid-range rooms.
For budget accommodation look at the list in the Rough
Guide, and phone ahead. |

If you do arrive in the city without a room
booked, go to one of the Tourist Offices, where the staff will try to
find you somewhere to stay, though you may end up miles out of town, or
paying a fortune, or both.

When the Freaknet editorial team visit
Amsterdam, we always stay in the
Hotel American (Leidsekade 97 - tel
556 3000), which we thoroughly recommend (if money is no object). |
